Buena 29, Dos Pueblos 7: Freshman running back George Keiaho rushed for 223 yards in 28 carries and scored the go-ahead touchdown to lead Buena to a Channel League victory at Larrabee Stadium and keep alive the Bulldogs’ playoff hopes.

Keiaho broke a 7-7 tie when he scored on a one-yard dive with 5 minutes 26 seconds left in the third quarter. His 27-yard run had brought the ball to the one.

Defensive back Anthony Morales sealed the victory for Buena (4-5, 4-2) with 5:48 left when he scooped up Charger running back Cy Brunner’s fumble at the Buena five-yard line and returned it 95 yards for a touchdown.

Dos Pueblos (1-8, 1-5) took a 7-0 first-quarter lead as wide receiver Rich Hollowell grabbed a 48-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Lee Speshyock.

Fullback Chuck Mullaney went over from the two-yard line to cap an eight-play, 60-yard series and tie the score, 7-7, later in the quarter.

Mullaney also scored on a one-yard run late in the game to give the Bulldogs a 29-7 lead.

Brunner was the Chargers’ only offensive weapon, gaining 126 yards in 26 carries.

Buena rolled up 339 yards in offense, but the Bulldogs also committed 10 penalties for 115 yards in losses.
