COMMUNITY COLLEGE WATER POLO ROUNDUP : Cypress Knocks Off San Diego Mesa to Advance
Dave Cameron scored three goals to lead Cypress College to a 12-8 victory over San Diego Mesa in a first-round water polo game of the Southern California Regionals Wednesday at Cypress.
Cypress (19-11) led, 6-4, at halftime and outscored Mesa, 4-1, in the third quarter to put game out of reach. Rick Fierro had 13 saves for Cypress.
In another Southern California Regional water polo game:
Citrus 15, Saddleback 10--Alex Sandoval scored five goals to help Citrus (24-6) eliminate Saddleback (9-19). Saddleback got three goals apiece from Matt Dunbar and Omar Ward.
