Carlsbad 58, Rancho Bernardo 49--Three of the five Carlsbad players who scored were in double figures: Calvin Coleman had 21, Kwan Shariff 12 and Chad Nelson 10. Rancho Bernardo (3-14, 1-8) got 13 from Bill McMahon, 12 from David Santos.

San Pasqual 69, San Marcos 38--San Pasqual jumped to a 38-14 lead at halftime and cruised to an easy victory. Erik Meek led the Eagles with 20 points.

City Eastern

Serra 58, Morse 56--Serra led by 11 points in the second quarter but eighth-ranked Morse tied the game at 56 on Darnell Cherry’s free throws with 1:30 remaining. Serra ran the clock down and Antwann Harris scored on a drive to the basket with five seconds left to give sixth-ranked Serra (13-4, 5-0) the victory. Harris had a game-high 15 points. Bryant Tucker scored 13. Jaamar Lavender led Morse (12-7, 3-2) with 13.

Mira Mesa 54, Point Loma 51--Mira Mesa made a field goal with 30 seconds remaining to take the 54-51 lead and Point Loma missed a three-point attempt with 10 seconds left. Ryan Cunningham (19 points) and Ngai Allen (10) led the Marauders. Eddie Greer’s 21 points paced Point Loma, which was outscored 13-4 in the first quarter.

City Central

Lincoln 101, Madison 80--Berry Randle scored 21 points and had 14 rebounds to lead fifth-ranked Lincoln (14-8, 5-0). Steve Eden added 16 rebounds and 10 points as every Lincoln player scored. Madison is 9-9, 1-4.

City Harbor League

Marian 54, Coronado 47--Marian (13-9, 2-3) held Coronado scoreless for 3 1/2 minutes in the fourth quarter and outscored the Islanders 17-9 to pull away. JaMarr Brown and Beto Martinez scored 17 for the Crusaders. Coronado (5-15, 1-4) got 15 points from Chris Anselmo.

St. Augustine 61, Clairemont 53--Junior forward John Gergurich scored 23 and pulled down 10 rebounds for St. Augustine (10-10, 2-3). Marco Agote had six rebounds, five blocked shots and eight points for the Saints. Alex Love scored 19 points for Clairemont (8-8, 3-2).

City Western

USDHS 56, Mission Bay 41--Ian Hamilton scored 14 and Eric Barajas scored 13 to lead USDHS (15-4, 4-1). Mission Bay dropped to 5-14, 1-4.

Grossmont 3-A

Helix 70, El Capitan 54--Helix led at halftime, 34-20, but the Vaqueros cut the lead to five points in the second half. Lloyd Lake led Helix with a game-high 27 points, including nine in the fourth quarter, and Jason Falconer added 22.

Grossmont 2-A

Valhalla 65, Santana 58--Mark Dillon scored a game-high 20 points to lead Valhalla (18-6, 5-0). Mike Nalu had 11 rebounds and Matt Marsh had seven assists for Valhalla. Buck Schultz led Santana (3-15, 1-4) with 16.

Metro Conference

Chula Vista 89, Bonita Vista 76--Chula Vista shot 63% from the field--including 50% from three-point range--and Jerome Green scored 27 points. Donnie Edwards added 16 points and 15 rebounds. Chula Vista, which hit 20 of 34 shots from the field to get off to a 52-36 halftime lead, improved to 14-9, 8-3. Bonita Vista (13-6, 7-4) had five players score in double figures, led by Rope Perry’s 20 points.

Mar Vista 90, Castle Park 73--Jim Gruber scored 20 points and Lenny Paguia added 19 for Mar Vista, which led 40-30 at halftime. Castle Park was led by Eric Bell’s 25 points.

Palomar League

Mt. Carmel 77, Fallbrook 72--Dana Pope scored 29 points to lead 10th-ranked Mt. Carmel (16-5, 6-4), which led by 11 in the third quarter only to see Fallbrook miss a three-point shot in the final 20 seconds trying to tie the game at 75. Mt. Carmel made 21 of 25 free throws, Fallbrook four of seven. Chris Miller scored 24 and Bob Nolan 23 for Fallbrook (13-9, 6-4).

Poway 73, Orange Glen 45--Frank Garrett scored 13 of Poway’s 27 third-quarter points. Garrett finished with 26 points. The second-ranked Titans (13-4, 7-2) held Orange Glen (0-15, 0-9) to 11 points in the first half.

San Dieguito 78, Vista 72--Vista came back in the fourth quarter, outscoring San Dieguito, 23-15, but San Dieguito hung on to improve to 13-8, 6-4. Matt de la Pena led San Dieguito with 23 points. Jason Barnes of Vista (8-13, 3-7) led all scorers with 37.

Rancho Buena Vista 63, Torrey Pines 62--Torrey Pines’ Scot Pollard blocked RBV’s Darryl Parker’s shot, but RBV’s Bond Schoeffel recovered the loose ball and passed it to Abe Ajlouny, who scored with nine seconds to play. Pollard missed a short shot in the closing seconds, and RBV’s Schoeffel knocked the ball out of John Allred’s hands as the buzzer sounded.

Nonleague

Hoover 49, Patrick Henry 45--Hoover’s two free throws late in the game foiled Patrick Henry’s comeback hopes. John Pike had 13 rebounds and 19 points, including seven in the fourth quarter and three three-pointers, to lead Henry (6-14), which only took four shots from the foul line.

Christian 68, La Jolla 49--Chad DeGrenier had 19 pints, five assists, five steals and five rebounds for Christian (16-4). La Jolla (1-16) was held to single digits in the first and second quarters.
