COLLEGE BASEBALL ROUNDUP : Chavez, Mission Rout Canyons, 21-9
Eddie Chavez of Mission College hit a pair of three-run home runs and drove in nine runs Tuesday in a 21-9 nonconference victory over host College of the Canyons.
Mission (3-3) led, 13-1, after 3 1/2 innings in a game called after 7 1/2 innings because of darkness. Brad McGahan of Mission was three for three with five runs batted in and four runs scored. Chavez was four for four, scored four runs and also pitched three scoreless innings.
Valley 9, Pasadena 1--Mike Murray was three for five in Valley’s nonconference win at Pasadena. Joe Ishikawa and Chad Ratliff were each two for four and drove in three runs for Valley (2-4-1).
Oxnard 12, Compton 7--Jeremy Herider had two doubles and drove in three runs to lead Oxnard (4-4) in a nonconference game at Compton.
