Ankle Injury Might Sideline Woods

Kelvin Woods, the second-leading scorer and third-leading rebounder for the University of San Diego, sprained his ankle Monday in practice and might not be available for Thursday’s home game against Loyola Marymount.

Woods, a 6-5 junior forward averaging 12.9 points and 5.2 rebounds, left practice early Monday and was on crutches afterward, but the injury was not believed to have been serious at first.

“Yesterday (Monday), it didn’t look like anything at all,” Coach Hank Egan said. “But this morning (Tuesday) . . . He’s listed as maybe at best.”
