PREP VOLLEYBALL ROUNDUP : Canyon Scores Volleyball First

Tom Bottiaux had 38 kills to lead Canyon to a four-game victory over St. Margaret’s in a nonleague boys’ volleyball game Wednesday at Canyon.

Both schools were making their debuts in the sport. Canyon won, 15-4, 7-15, 15-8, 15-9.

In other nonleague boys’ volleyball:

Esperanza 3, Garden Grove 0--Robert Dunwoody had 12 kills and Jason Galeener had 11 as host Esperanza won, 16-14, 15-9, 15-13.

Laguna Hills 3, Foothill 2--Eric Davis had 24 kills and Paul La Mott had 11 kills and six blocks as host Laguna Hills defeated visiting Foothill, 15-12, 15-10, 14-16, 11-15, 15-12, in each team’s opening game.

Ocean View 3, El Toro 0--Peter Lak had 10 kills and Matt Beehler had 25 assists and five blocks for host Ocean View (1-0), which won, 15-13, 16-14, 15-12.
