More Hilltop-Moose Tournament

USDHS 7, Chula Vista 4--Robb Floco broke a 4-4 tie in the bottom of the sixth with a two-run triple and later scored on Doug Abts’ suicide squeeze bunt. Pitcher Bob Rieter (1-0) allowed one hit in 3 1/3 innings of relief for the victory. USDHS is 3-0; the Spartans are 0-3.

Poway 5, St. Augustine 3--Rob Polarski sparked the Titans (3-0) with a home run and was one of three Poway players with two hits. The others were Brock Marsh and Donnie Jones. Justin Williams gave Saints a brief 3-2 lead when he hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the third.

Mission Bay 6, Escondido 4--Mission Bay scored three in the fifth and was aided by Escondido, which committed seven errors.

Madison Warhawk Tournament

Point Loma 2, Castle Park 0--With no score and one out in the ninth, Josh Serrano drove Mike Williams home with a single off losing pitcher Benji Gil (0-2). Alan Holmes then doubled home Serrano off another pitcher, as the Pointers improved to 3-2. The Trojans fell to 1-4.

Santana 13, Madison 12--The Sultans got the better of the Warhawks as the two combined for 15 errors in the game. Madison’s miscues were more costly, as Santana scored eight runs in the first and three in the second.

Kearny 10, Bonita Vista 4--The Komets (2-2-1) were fueled by a five-run second inning. Sean Palmer was 2-3 with a home run and three RBI and Chris Floyd was 3-4 with a double and triple and scored three times for Kearny. Pitcher Eddie Feistel improved to 2-0. The Barons dropped to 0-5.

Mt. Carmel 8, Mt. Miguel 3--Designated hitter Eric Dockery broke a 3-3 tie in the fifth with a bases-loaded double to lead Mt. Carmel (3-1-1). Three runs scored and then Dockery scored on an overthrow. Kevin Brady picked up the victory. Mt. Miguel is 2-2-1.

Serra 7, Vista 4--Danny Wasilausky knocked in the winning run with a two-run double in the seventh. Mike Bledsoe went two for three and scored three runs. Jim Lafferty (2-0) picked up the win. Serra is 4-0-1.

Pepsi-Mar Vista Tournament

Montgomery 5, Monte Vista 1--Antonio Serena keyed a four-run rally for the Aztecs (3-0) in the top of the seventh with a bases-loaded, two-run single. But everyone scored, including Serena, when the center fielder misplayed his hit.

Hoover 6, Coronado 1--Jimmy Morrison wenth three for three and piched five innings for the win. Hoover is 1-2, Coronado 0-3.

Crawford Tournament

La Jolla 2, West Hills 1--Carl Maggio (2-for-3) singled and scored on Jeremy Shelton’s sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh for La Jolla (3-0). Freshman Jason Green and Craig Woodall, who pitched six innings and yielded an infield single, combined on a one-hitter. West Hills fell to 2-1.

University City 14, Crawford 7--Jeremy Albers went two for four to lead University City, which improved to 3-0. Peter Uriarte went two for three with three RBIs for Uni City. Crawford is 0-3.

GMC Tournament

San Diego 10, Institute of Mexico 0--Vick Ledon led San Diego with two hits and three RBIs. San Diego’s James Dean was two for four. Chino Arreola picked up the win.

Lincoln 17, La Jolla Country Day 9--Senior center fielder/pitcher Andre Douglas, who has started the season seven for seven, capped Lincoln’s 15-hit attack with a two-run homer in the sixth.
