PREP ROUNDUP : Dolan Leads Los Alamitos to Victory in Canyon Softball Tournament
Caroline Dolan pitched a one-hitter and struck out six Saturday to lead Los Alamitos to a 2-0 victory over Pacifica in the Canyon Softball Tournament. Dolan has 55 strikeouts this season.
The Griffins (8-1) scored once in the bottom of the first when Renee Bergeron reached first on an error, stole second and came home on Dolan’s grounder over the head of pitcher Jennifer Surface.
Los Alamitos’ other run came in the third when second baseman Shelby Olmstead reached on an error, went to second on a sacrifice bunt, reached third on a fielder’s choice and scored on a bases-loaded single by Kandi Rehard.
Surface had a one-hitter and struck out seven for Pacifica (5-6).
