Esperanza’s Pullen Commits to UC Davis Football

Reid Pullen of Esperanza High School has made an oral commitment to play football at UC Davis, Rick Pullen, his father, said Thursday.

Reid Pullen, a 6-foot-2, 208-pound tight end, had 28 receptions for 387 yards while helping the Aztecs to the Southern Section Division III championship last season. He was a Times’ All-County selection.

Pullen was recruited by Brown and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo as well as UC Davis, which does not offer athletic scholarships.

Pullen, a center fielder on the Esperanza baseball team, is considering playing baseball for the Aggies next season.
