Troy High School’s Steve Friedrich, who led the county with 10 home runs and 37 runs batted in, heads the list of selections for the North team that will participate in the Orange County All-Star baseball game June 4 at Anaheim’s Glover Stadium.

The team features five quality catchers--Friedrich, Chris Briones of Brea-Olinda, Jon Pitts of Esperanza, D.C. Olsen of Fullerton and Scott Wood of Kennedy--among the 22 players selected by Coach Doug Elliott of Sunny Hills.

Friedrich will play in the outfield and Olsen will likely be a designated hitter for the team that will begin workouts May 29.
