PREP ROUNDUP : Corona del Mar Tennis Team Wins on Tiebreaker

The Corona del Mar girls’ tennis team split 16 sets with Harvard Westlake in both teams’ season opener Friday and the Sea Kings won on a tiebreaker when the match was halted because of darkness.
Corona del Mar barely won the match on games, edging Harvard Westlake, 75-71. The No. 1 doubles team of Erika Anhood and Sara Cicerone swept their sets, 6-3, 6-2, 6-0, and the No. 2 doubles team of Jenny Glasgow and Jenny Murdy swept, 6-2, 6-1, 6-1, for host Corona del Mar.
At the 12th Annual Valencia High School girls’ volleyball tournament:
El Dorado, Garden Grove, and Valencia remained unbeaten after Friday’s pool play and advanced to the championship round with Kennedy, Sonora and Fullerton.
The tournament championship game is scheduled at 3:15 p.m. today at Valencia High School.
