Hart High’s football game against Thousand Oaks on Friday represents more than just a big game between two of the region’s top teams. Hart will attempt to post a 2-0 record for the first time since 1981. . . . Canyon heads into its game Friday against Notre Dame with history on its side. In nine years under Coach Harry Welch, the Cowboys are 7-2 in games played the week after playing Hart. In addition, Notre Dame has lost to Canyon seven years in a row.
Defense: Oak Park linebacker John Liebe had four sacks against Murphy. . . . Littlerock linebacker Chris Towery had six tackles and one interception against Serrano.
Offense: North Hollywood finished with minus-16 yards in total offense in its 31-0 loss to El Camino Real. The Huskies finished with six yards passing and minus-22 yards rushing. Of the five players who carried the ball, only Danny Fuselier (10 carries, 18 yards) finished with plus yardage. The team’s longest gain from scrimmage was seven yards. . . .
Nine Palmdale players carried the ball in the Falcons’ 34-8 loss to Muir. Variety didn’t add much spice: The Falcons rushed for 87 yards.
Streaks: Narbonne lost its 18th consecutive game and 41st in its past 42 contests in a 43-0 shellacking at the hands of Kennedy.
