Point Loma 28, Las Vegas Valley 0--Alex Gresham rushed 16 times for 84 yards and three touchdowns as Point Loma improved to 2-1.
The Pointers allowed Valley (1-3) only 140 total yards, 78 on the ground and 62 through the air.
What’s more, Point Loma squelched four Valley drives with interceptions, including two from Michael Driver.
University City 8, Madison 7--Daranzol Sheppard put a crimp in what had been a Madison-controlled ballgame when the University City quarterback returned a punt 96 yards with 36 seconds remaining to tie the game. Sheppard then hit Ed Miller on the conversion pass to win the game.
Madison (0-3) scored in the first quarter after UC (2-0) fumbled on its 25 and the Warhawks recovered. Robert Wright drove in from six yards out.
Rancho Buena Vista 41, El Centro Central 0--Edric Hall scored four touchdowns, including a 46-yarder, to lead the Longhorns to their first victory in three games. Central fell to 1-2.
Santa Fe Christian 47, St. Margaret’s 28--Santa Fe Christian got touchdowns from five different players: Keith Cardinale, Daryl Dalton, Mark Loeffler, Steve Laputz and Justin Halenza.
Cardinale and Laputz each scored two touchdowns as Santa Fe Christian improved to 3-0. St. Margaret’s fell to 0-2.
Costa Mesa Calvary Chapel 14, Army-Navy 0--Army-Navy dropped to 1-2 with the loss at home. Calvary Chapel’s Matt Kellog, carried 16 times for 91 yards, including a rushing touchdown of six-yards. Quarterback Jason Sharkey (six of 14, 41 yards) gained 28 yards on a keeper that set up Calvary’s second TD, an eight-yard pass from Sharkey to Jake Guild.
Army-Navy (1-2) had 141 total yards to Calvary Chapel’s 177.
