ROUNDUP : Royal Routs Agoura to Extend Win Streak

Jack Kocur and Mike Radka each scored seven goals Thursday as Royal High hammered Agoura, 22-3, in a Marmonte League water polo match at Agoura. The victory marked the 42nd consecutive league victory for the Highlanders, whose last defeat came at the hands of Thousand Oaks in 1986.

Kocur and Radka each scored 10 goals in a 31-0 blowout of Simi Valley on Wednesday, giving the pair 34 goals in two days for Royal (14-3, 4-0 in league play).

Royal’s Ryan Duncan, playing in his first match in two weeks because of a shoulder injury, added four goals for the Highlanders.

Goalkeeper Ralph Radka, Mike’s brother, recorded 16 saves.

Chaminade d. Bishop Montgomery, 15-6, 15-13, 13-15, 13-15, 15-5--Laura Harrigan had 15 kills and Sabrina Pozzi added 13 for Chaminade (7-3, 4-0) in a Mission League match at home.

Notre Dame d. St. Bernard, 15-9, 15-7, 13-15, 15-13--Ani Thorpe had 14 kills and two aces for Notre Dame (5-5, 3-1) in a Mission League match at St. Bernard.

San Gabriel d. Hart, 15-10, 15-5, 15-7--Shannon Martin had eight kills for Hart (2-5, 1-3) in a Foothill League loss at San Gabriel (4-0).

Ventura d. Oxnard, 15-10, 15-6, 15-10--Jessica Lepper had eight kills for Ventura (7-1, 7-1) in a Channel League match at Ventura.

Louella Lovely had 55 assists for Bell-Jeff. El Segundo is 8-2, 2-1.

Calabasas d. Santa Clara, 15-9, 15-11, 15-7--Kristi Thompsen had 14 kills and six stuff blocks and Shannon Yamasaki added 23 assists for Calabasas (7-4, 3-0) in a Frontier League match at Santa Clara.

Alemany d. St. Paul, 1-15, 15-7, 15-9, 12-15, 15-8--Wendy Dreher had 16 kills for Alemany (5-4, 2-2) in a Mission League match at St. Paul.

Poly d. North Hollywood, 15-12, 15-8, 15-3--Carmel McLurkin had nine kills and Tami O’Dell added eight for Poly (7-2, 4-2) in an East Valley League match at North Hollywood.

Lisa Giatti added six aces for Poly.

First Lutheran d. L.A. Lutheran, 20-18, 15-10, 8-15, 15-10--Susan Riddle had seven kills and Anna Lopez had six kills and four aces in a losing effort for L.A. Lutheran (7-2, 6-2) in a Heritage League match at Stonehurst Recreation Center in Sunland.

Valley Alternative d. Sherman Oaks CES, 4-15, 15-5, 15-10--Sherman Oaks finished 6-2 and in a first-place tie with Westside Alternative in the Magnet League.

Harvard-Westlake d. Immaculate Heart, 15-1, 15-12, 15-4--Heather Kun and Laura Wolf had six kills each for visiting Westlake (6-2, 1-2) in a Sunshine League match.

GIRLS’ TENNIS

Hart 9, San Gabriel 9--Junior Jodi Parker won all four of her singles sets to lead Hart (9-9, 3-3), which won the Foothill League match because of a 76-74 advantage in games won.

BOYS’ CROSS-COUNTRY

Birmingham 15, Canoga Park 50--Alvaro Mejia of Birmingham recorded the best time of the day among City Section runners competing at Pierce College.

Mejia finished the three-mile course in 15 minutes 57 seconds as Birmingham swept the top five places in the Mid-Valley League competition.

San Fernando 16, Kennedy 39; San Fernando 19, Cleveland 67--George Sanchez finished first in 16:39 to lead San Fernando in a North Valley League meet at Pierce College.

GIRLS’ CROSS-COUNTRY

Kennedy 34, San Fernando 31; Kennedy 15, Cleveland 40--Jennie Armenta finished first in 20:37 in a North Valley League meet at Pierce College.
