COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : No. 5 Irvine Valley Beats Rancho Santiago, 4-2

Keith Rosenberg scored twice in the first half and Irvine Valley College defeated Rancho Santiago, 4-2, in an Orange Empire Conference men’s soccer game Tuesday at Irvine.

Irvine Valley (9-2-2, 4-2-0 in conference) is ranked fifth in the state. Carlos Martinez scored two goals for Rancho Santiago (8-3-1, 3-3), the state’s eighth-ranked team.

In other Orange Empire Conference men’s soccer:

Cypress 0, Golden West 0--Goalie Clint Larson posted his sixth shutout of the season for visiting Golden West (7-6-3, 2-2-2). Cypress is 1-11-1, 0-5-1.

In Orange Empire Conference women’s soccer:

Irvine Valley 4, Golden West 0--Kymm Maniscalco scored three goals for host Irvine Valley (1-6, 1-5), which won for the first time this season. Irvine Valley goalie Rima Saba had 11 saves. Golden West is 0-8, 0-6.

Orange Coast 5, Long Beach City College 1--Dominique Dalton scored two second-half goals as visiting Orange Coast (6-5-2, 4-1-1) broke a 1-1 halftime tie.

Palomar 3, Cypress 1--Noelle Rost scored with seven minutes remaining to avoid a shutout for host Cypress (6-2-1, 3-2-1). Palomar (6-1-1, 5-0-1) remained in first place in the conference.

In Orange Empire Conference water polo:

Saddleback 10, Rancho Santiago 6--Bobby Killin scored three goals for host Saddleback (8-18, 1-4).

In South Coast Conference water polo:

Golden West 22, Fullerton 12--Corey Delahunt scored five goals for visiting Golden West (23-0, 5-0).
