Birmingham 29, North Hollywood 8--Quarterback Vince Lampkin excelled as both a runner and passer as the undefeated Braves (7-0, 5-0) humbled the Huskies (0-8, 0-5) at Birmingham.

Lampkin completed four of seven passes for 69 yards and carried the ball eight times for 108 yards. He threw for one touchdown and ran for two others.

After a scoreless first quarter, Lampkin scored on a 12-yard run with 1:20 remaining in the half.

Lampkin threw a 15-yard pass to Ray Banner for a 16-0 lead at the end of the third quarter after Birmingham scored on a safety when Banner tackled Jose Arenas in the end zone.

Paul Holt then scored on a seven-yard run early in the fourth.

The Huskies scored their first touchdown of the season with 5:31 remaining when quarterback Jimmy Crist (seven of 16 for 135 yards) connected on a 75-yard pass play with Ricardo Vazquez. Allan Wing followed with a two-point conversion run.

Lampkin capped the scoring with a 52-yard run with 4:16 remaining.
