MEN’S TENNIS

Four University of San Diego players, Philippe Hoffmann, Fredrik Axsater, Kevin Bradley, Ignacio Martinez, advanced into the second round of the Rolex ITCA Tournament at UC Irvine. The doubles teams of Bradley and Hoffmann and Martinez and Jose Luis Noriega reached the third round with victories.

SOCCER

Tony da Luz, the USD assistant men’s soccer coach for the past seven years, has been named to coach the USD women’s soccer team. Women’s soccer will become an intercollegiate sport at USD in the Fall of 1992. USD will compete at the Division I level as a member of the West Coast Conference. The USD women have competed on the club level for the past three years.
