In another 4-A match:

Capistrano Valley 15, Newport Harbor 3--Despite the absence of Allison Light, their No. 2 singles player, the Cougars (20-1) easily won their 19th consecutive match. Page Bartelt and Lisa Shulga each had sweeps in singles as did the doubles teams of Jennie Canfield and Jenny Chang and Maria Nguyen and Grace Wu.

In a 3-A match:

Laguna Beach 14, West Torrance 4--The doubles teams of Kristine Woods and Tara Kuhnert and Shelby Hunt and Christy Collisson each swept their sets as the host Artists improved to 16-4.
