Faye Hagan of Norwalk Glenn High School and Joana Ziuraitis of Torrance Bishop Montgomery High have signed letters of intent to play for the Cal State Fullerton women’s basketball team, and Lamar Mattier of Compton College has signed with the Titan men’s team.

Ziuraitis, a 6-foot-1 forward, averaged 17 points and 14 rebounds a game last season for Ventura St. Bonaventure High. She was named most valuable player of the Tri-Valley League and was an All-Ventura County selection before transferring to Bishop Montgomery.

Hagan, a 5-8 forward, averaged 21 points, 12 rebounds and seven steals a game and was named MVP of the Suburban League last season. Fullerton Coach Maryalyce Jeremiah said she received letters from the two players Friday.

Titan men’s Coach John Sneed could not confirm the signing of Mattier, but Mattier’s mother, Carolyn, said Friday that Lamar had indeed signed with Fullerton.

A 6-7 forward, Mattier was a teammate of Titan forward Agee Ward at Los Angeles Washington High. He spent the 1988-89 season at Barton County Community College in Kansas but has not played basketball the past two seasons. He will play at Compton College this season.
