At the Daily Pilot Tip-Off boys’ basketball tournament:

Marina 51, El Toro 48--Jason Senik, who had 13 points for El Toro, missed a potential game-tying three-pointer at the buzzer. Darren Crooks led Marina (1-0) with 14 points.

In nonleague girls’ basketball:

Estancia 64, Foothill 19--Foothill scored all 19 points on free throws as Estancia’s defense held the Knights without a field goal. Monique Sweet scored 23 points and Becky Meabon added 17 for visiting Estancia (1-0).

In nonleague boys’ soccer:

Orange 1, Edison 1--Geof Truitt scored 15 minutes into the second half for Edison. Robert Rodriguez scored in the first half for Orange, which is ranked third in the county.

In nonleague girls’ soccer:

Capistrano Valley 2, Esperanza 0--Monika Larsson scored both goals for host Capistrano Valley (1-0).
