Share

Stais Boseman of Morningside High has been named to the elite All-Southern Section football team, made up of 24 players from the 10 divisions within the largest California Interscholastic Federation section.

Boseman, the Division VIII player of the year, was selected to the all-star team as a defensive back by the Amateur Athletic Foundation/First Interstate Bank board of sportswriters. The 6-foot-3, 185-pound junior, who also played quarterback, led Morningside to an 11-2 record and its first section football title.

Boseman was one of only four non-seniors named to the team, which included two other Ocean League players: Beverly Hills wide receiver David Saraf and Culver City quarterback/defensive back Dameron Ricketts. Boseman and Ricketts were league co-players of the year.
