In other Pacific Coast League games:

Trabuco Hills 67, Laguna Hills 50--Brett Poulos had 25 points, including five three-point baskets, five assists and four steals, and Gavin Vanderputten had 17 points and 15 rebounds for Trabuco Hills (12-5, 2-0). Aaron Cook had 11 points for Laguna Hills (6-8, 0-2).

Laguna Beach 69, Costa Mesa 45--Darren Gravley scored 25 points and had seven assists for Laguna Beach (11-5, 1-1). Teammate Tom Ravensberg scored 10 of his 23 points in the third quarter. Jeff Pickens scored 16 points for Costa Mesa (0-2 in league).

In Empire League boys’ basketball:

Los Alamitos 56, Esperanza 55 (OT)--Guard Tim Lin hit a three-point shot and made two free throws in overtime to give Los Alamitos (10-8, 2-0) the victory. Ollie Miller stole a pass at midcourt with 14 seconds remaining to stymie a comeback attempt by Esperanza (8-8, 1-1).

El Dorado 81, Loara 62--John Simonsen had 20 points for El Dorado (10-7, 1-1).

Katella 56, Cypress 53 (OT)--Vince Laguana of Cypress made a three-pointer with 10 seconds remaining in regulation to tie the score, 49-49, and send the game to overtime. Brian Carlson, who scored a game-high 19 points, had three points and Keith Carraby four in the overtime for Katella (6-8, 1-1). Cypress is 9-9 and 1-1.

In Orange League boys’ basketball:

Brea-Olinda 52, Magnolia 47--Scott Hole scored 12 points and teammate Mark Chiotti added 11 points as the Wildcats (6-10, 1-0) won its league opener at Magnolia.

Savanna 49, Anaheim 28--Toby Priest scored 24 points and freshman Danny Joaquin scored eight for host Savanna (10-5, 1-0).

Western 48, Valencia 37--Frank Floyd scored 20 points for Western (1-0). Adolfo Gomez scored 12 points for Valencia (7-6, 0-1).

In Garden Grove League boys’ basketball:

Kennedy 69, Bolsa Grande 42--Jermaine Galloway scored eight of his 20 points in the fourth quarter for Kennedy (9-6, 4-0).

Garden Grove 60, Los Amigos 52--Jim Sebreros and Cornell Archer each scored six points in the fourth quarter as the Argonauts outscored the Lobos, 22-14. in the final eight minutes.

Rancho Alamitos 87, La Quinta 70--David Guzman scored 20 points for Rancho Alamitos (6-7, 3-1).

In Sea View League League boys’ basketball:

Saddleback 41, Corona del Mar 39--Luis Estrella scored on a three-footer at the buzzer to give the Roadrunners (10-6, 2-0) the victory. Trailing by seven after three quarters, Corona del Mar outscored Saddleback, 12-2, to take a 39-36 lead. With 24 seconds remaining, Saddleback’s Chris Bradshaw made a three-pointer to tie the score, 39-39. Corona del Mar turned the ball over with nine seconds remaining to set up Estrella’s shot.

Jason Register led Saddleback with 13 points, and Theo Rokos had a game-high 16 points for Corona del Mar (7-9, 0-2).

Tustin 71, University 57--Jentry Moore had 28 points and 14 rebounds for the Tillers (12-6, 2-0), who also got 16 points from Derek Roche.

Josh Whelihan led University with 17 and Donnell Dowdy added 16.

Woodbridge 82, Newport Harbor 61--Todd Loewe scored 23 points and Matt Murphy 15 for Woodbridge (10-4, 1-1). Justin McIntee led Newport Harbor with 21 and Mark McAnlis added 18.

In South Coast League boys’ basketball:

Irvine 79, Mission Viejo 41--Jado Lee made five three-point shots and scored 27 points for Irvine (15-3, 2-0).

Capistrano Valley 86, San Clemente 58--Although San Clemente held Tom Airey to three points, four Cougar post players combined for 66 points and second-ranked Capistrano Valley (15-3, 2-0) cruised. Matt Moore had 20 points, Steve Ransom 17, and Geremy Garrett 16 to lead the Cougars, and point guard David Sedgwick had 10 assists.

El Toro 50, Dana Hills 33--Jason Senik had 12 points and Mike Meier 10 for the host Chargers.

In Garden Grove League girls’ basketball:

Pacifica 55, Santiago 43--Jennifer Surface scored 19 points for host Pacifica (1-3 in league).

Garden Grove 56, Los Amigos 27--Trang Tran had eight points for Los Amigos (1-12, 0-4), which trailed 35-12 at the half.

Kennedy 57, Bolsa Grande 29--Lynly Matsumoto had 22 points for Kennedy.

Rancho Alamitos 78, La Quinta 31--Anita Stecker scored eight of her 15 points in the first quarter as the Vaqueros (7-2, 4-0) led, 19-1, after the first eight minutes.
