Avocado League

Carlsbad 60, Oceanside 31--Hollie Gerdes led Carlsbad (10-2, 5-0) with 19 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks. Also for Carlsbad, Vanessa Nygaard added 12 points, 13 rebounds and six assists. Nykia Burnside scored 13 for Oceanside (2-13, 0-5).

Rancho Bernardo 59, San Marcos 42--Carol Pajarillo scored a game-high 21 points, including a school-record five three-pointers, and Robin Blalock added 12 points to assist No. 3 Rancho Bernardo (13-2, 4-1). Candice Fode scored 12 and Tammy Hinrichs 11 for San Marcos (6-8, 3-2).

Escondido 64, Ramona 46--Cindy Vanderwoode 23 scored 23 for Escondido (7-7, 3-2), and teammate True Huynh added 13. For Ramona (0-14, 0-5), Jennifer Andreacchi scored 16 and Cindy Johnson added 13.

Grossmont 2-A League

El Cajon Valley 60, El Capitan 40--Heather Holm, the county’s leading scorer, had 40 points, one away from her career high, to lead El Cajon Valley (14-3, 1-0). Stacy Terry paced El Capitan (9-6, 1-1) with 15 points.

Metro Conference

Chula Vista 78, Sweetwater 23--Jennifer Benitez led Chula Vista (6-9, 4-2) with 21 points and teammate Allison Hines added 19 points and nine steals. also for Chula Vista, Sharifia Chamberlain scored 13 points, and Jessica Juarez scored 13 for Sweetwater (0-14, 0-6).

Nonleague

Point Loma 55, University City 41--Lisa Griego led No. 5 Point Loma with 18 points and 10 rebounds. She was eight of 10 from the free-throw line. Teammate Sharinda Hunter added 14 points and Tinyetta Hunter scored 11 and pulled down 11 rebounds. University City’s Shanda Edwards scored 13 points. Point Loma improved to 14-1, and No. 6 University City fell to 11-2.
