Another Grossmont 3-A game:

Monte Vista 60, Granite Hills 48--In an early battle for first place, three Monte Vista players scored in double figures: Marty Ellis, 16; Aaron Elliott, 16; and Paul Watson 14. Granite Hills’ Troy Meier led everyone with 17. No. 2 Monte Vista improved to 16-1, 2-0, and Granite Hills fell to 9-6, 1-1.

Grossmont 2-A League

Valhalla 74, Santana 42--Valhalla held Santana to four first quarter points and cruised from there. Wayne Sippial led the way with 11 first-half points and 17 overall. He did not play in the fourth quarter, nor did Beau Sager, who scored 11 for No. 7 Valhalla (15-5, 2-0). Santana fell to 3-11, 0-2.

El Capitan 59, El Cajon Valley 38--Justin Shands scored 17 and Brian Hawkins 19 to lead El Capitan (9-10, 1-1). Mike Harris had 17 points and Mike Stadler 15 for El Cajon Valley (2-11, 0-1).

Nonleague

Mt. Miguel 77, West Hills 66--Robbie Sandoval connected for four three-pointers and led Mt. Miguel with 19 points. He also passed for six assists as did teammate Nestor Damasco. Mike Campbell led West Hills (6-9) with 26 points. Mt. Miguel improved to 9-9.
