Loara’s Jackson Commits to Play Football at Oregon

Bryant Jackson of Loara High School, a Times all-Orange County defensive lineman, has orally committed to Oregon, Loara Coach John deFries said Wednesday.

Jackson, 6 feet 2 and 290 pounds, chose Oregon over Oregon State, Fresno State and Washington State.

He canceled a weekend trip to Washington State when he committed to Oregon on Wednesday. National signing day for high school football players is next Wednesday.

Jackson, a strong pass rusher, was named the defensive player of the year in the Empire League this season.

Jackson will join former Mater Dei quarterback Danny O’Neil and former Mission Viejo defensive lineman Mark Slymen at Oregon.
