In other Avocado League games:

San Pasqual 66, Ramona 43--Ramona (5-12, 1-8) trailed by eight going into the fourth quarter, but was whistled for a barrage of fouls in the final eight minutes, which resulted in San Pasqual (8-12, 5-4) making 20 of 25 free throws.

Seven Eagles went to the line in the quarter; Shane Carlson connected on five of six in that time and seven of eight overall.

For the game, San Pasqual was 24 of 31 from the line. Ramona was three of six.

Rancho Bernardo 73, Escondido 55--Greg Hanson was four for seven from behind the three-point arc and finished with a team-high 16 for Rancho Bernardo (14-6, 7-2).

Oceanside 45, San Marcos 36--Oceanside (8-11, 3-5) held San Marcos’ leading scorer to nine points. San Marcos fell to 4-14, 1-8.

Metro Conference

Bonita Vista 97, Castle Park 72--Bonita Vista (7-1, 12-8) took over first place behind the scoring of Frank Perlata and Gerald Rhoden, each of whom scored 28. Bobby Stanton hit four three-pointers and finished with 29 points for Castle Park (8-10, 4-5).

Mar Vista 57, Sweetwater 47--Mar Vista’s upset victory knocked Sweetwater (9-12, 7-2) out of first place. The fall was self-induced: Sweetwater hit only six of 21 free throws while Mar Vista sank 12 of 17. Mark King and Rick Sabio led Mar Vista (9-8, 4-4) with 15 points each.

Southwest 63, Hilltop 47--Southwest’s Tony Diaz came through with a game-high 21 points, which was highlighted by a half-court shot with one second left in the first quarter. Teammate Rodney Lerma contributed six assists. For Hilltop (1-18, 0-9), Jorge Munoz scored 15 points. Southwest improved to 9-10, 5-4.

Chula Vista 67, Montgomery 56--After scoring only nine points in his last outing, Chula Vista’s Jerome Green, the county’s leading scorer, rounded back into form with 28 points as Chula Vista improved to 14-8, 7-2, and Montgomery fell to 4-16, 1-8.

Palomar League

Mt. Carmel 89, Vista 75--Chris Goode contributed 22 points, 17 rebounds and six blocked shots as No. 8 Mt. Carmel (13-7, 6-3) upset No. 4 Vista (13-7, 7-2). Aaron Harmon added 15 points, six assists and six rebounds and Jason Sammons 16 points for the Sundevils, who shot 56% from the field. Shane Jager scored 22 of his game-high 24 points in the first half for Vista.

Torrey Pines 82, Fallbrook 72--Torrey Pine’s Craig Brown had a perfect shooting night and tied a Section record, making 13 of 13 field goals, including all seven of his three-point attempts. Brown, a 6-4 senior forward, finished with a game-high 33 points, five assists, four rebounds and two steals. Teammate Scot Pollard added 19 points and 10 rebounds and Peter Bates 17 points. Top-ranked Torrey Pines improved to 18-3, 9-0

Poway 67, Rancho Buena Vista 61--Four of RBV’s five starters fouled out beginning in the third quarter. For No. 6 Poway, Kyle Milling and Mitch Palmer had 16 points each. Abe Ajlouny led the Longhorns with 18 points. The Titans were hot from the free-throw line: 28 for 37. Poway improved to 17-6, 6-3; RBV dropped to 8-14, 1-8.

San Dieguito 76, Orange Glen 62--David Demian scored 20 and teammate Craig Vilhauer added 13 as San Dieguito improved to 10-11, 3-6. Orange Glen fell to 2-17, 0-9.
