BOYS’ BASKETBALL PLAYOFF ROUNDUP : Fick Leads Newbury Park Rally

Robert Fick scored seven of his nine points in the final three minutes to rally Newbury Park High to a 46-38 victory over Foothill in a second-round Southern Section Division III-AA playoff game Tuesday night at Newbury Park.

Fick broke a 36-36 deadlock with a twisting drive to give the lead to Newbury Park, which had trailed by as many as 10 points in the second half. The senior guard added three free throws and a layup in the final minute.

Center Sean McKeown led the Panthers (14-10) with 16 points, including a pair of clutch three-point baskets early in the fourth quarter. Newbury Park forced Foothill into six consecutive turnovers in the final three minutes and 19 turnovers.
