OUTLOOK

The Coyotes are looking for improvement after falling on hard times last year. With eight starters gone from its 1990 league championship team, Buena Park finished 3-7 and tied Troy for fifth in league standings. The good news was that Sapp was able to get her inexperienced players a lot of valuable seasoning. Last season, the Coyotes lost a lot of one-run and extra-inning games. But Sapp hopes the added maturity and team quickness and solid defense will help turn it around for her squad this spring. Shortstop Trisha Bokano, now at Cypress College, was the only key loss for Buena Park. Beer, a .350 hitter, Snooks, a pitcher, and Rodriquez at second base, lead eight returning starters. Lavender, Collier, Salas and Analiese and Amie Simpson round out the returning starters. Negrete, Boles and Bowman are the top newcomers. The Coyotes appear to be the league’s dark horse.
