COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Diplock Leads Fullerton Past Rancho Santiago

Jason Diplock had three hits and drove in three runs as Fullerton defeated Rancho Santiago, 6-4, in an Orange Empire Conference baseball game Tuesday at Fullerton.

Diplock had a home run in the fifth to tie it, 4-4, then he and Sal Mancuso had RBI singles in the fifth as the Hornets (11-7-1, 4-3 in conference) took a 6-4 lead.

David Gonzalez had two hits and three runs batted in and Robin Lindsey had a home run for Rancho Santiago (11-6-1, 4-2-1).

In other conference games:

Cypress 9, Golden West 7--Golden West loaded the bases with two outs in the top of the ninth, but relief pitcher Rick Orr got Matt Logan to ground out to short to end the game.

Cypress’ Jason Hodges had two home runs, including a grand slam in the fifth inning, for Cypress (12-9, 1-6), which ended its conference losing streak at six games.

Riverside 17, Saddleback 4--Joey Dawley pitched a four-hitter for visiting Riverside (11-6, 4-3). Chris Sauritch had a home run for Saddleback (8-5-2, 4-2-1), which remained tied for first with Rancho Santiago.

In an Orange Empire Conference softball game:

Fullerton 1, Golden West 0--Angie Guerrero pitched a no-hitter and Jen Gorman had an RBI single in the second for visiting Fullerton (10-6, 2-2).
