Santa Didn’t Have a Snowball’s Chance
As a transplanted Philadelphian, in reading Helene Elliott’s otherwise fine piece on Von Hayes (March 3), I noticed a glaring error: She states that Hayes was a target in a city most known for booing Santa Claus.
The incident to which I think Ms. Elliott refers is one when the Eagles were playing at Franklin Field, and where Santa was relentlessly pelted with snowballs. There may have been some booing, but as any true Philadelphian knows, booing while hurling frozen projectiles can affect your aim.
