MONARCH MANIA: Mater Dei football coach Bruce Rollinson helped out the basketball program Monday. . . . He flew to Sacramento with $5,000 to purchase additional tickets for the Monarchs’ Division I boys’ basketball state championship against Alameda St. Joseph on Saturday in Sacramento. Mater Dei already had 500 tickets, but those were gone in about an hour Monday morning. . . . Rollinson had to take cash--in a suitcase packed with small bills--since the ticket office wouldn’t accept a check.
