NEW HOOPS HOME: Mater Dei’s Monarchs, who play for the State Division I boys’ basketball championship Saturday, played seven home games at the Bren Events Center at UC Irvine this season, consistently outdrawing UCI’s own team. Now Mater Dei Coach Gary McKnight says next season his team will play all its home games at the Bren Center. . . . But the Moody Blues may outdraw them all March 29 with a full house possible at the 5,000-seat arena.
