University 5, Corona del Mar 4--Donell Dowdy doubled in two runs during a four-run second inning and pitched a four-hitter over five innings for the visiting Trojans (7-4, 3-2).

Dave Angeloni homered with one on in the second for the Sea Kings (5-4, 2-3).

Saddleback 1, Woodbridge 0--A two-out single by Saddleback’s Jimmy Garcia scored Hector Blancet, who had doubled, for the game’s only run in the sixth inning at Saddleback (9-2, 4-1).

In the Century League:

Canyon 3, El Modena 3 (9 innings, darkness)--Matt Wood of Canyon pitched all nine innings, striking out 13 and giving up only four hits. His bloop single in the top of the seventh tied the score, 3-3. Canyon is 6-3-1, 2-1-1. El Modena, which played 26 innings in three games this week, is 3-4-2, 1-2-2.

Foothill 14, Orange 8--Hector Enriquez had two hits and four RBIs and Keo Powell had two hits and two RBIs for host Foothill (6-3, 3-0). Orange is 4-6-1, 1-3-1.

Santa Ana Valley 9, Villa Park 8--Enrique Farias had a run-scoring single to break a 6-6 tie in the seventh inning for visiting Santa Ana Valley (5-6, 2-3).

In the Empire League:

El Dorado 5, Cypress 4--Shawn Holcomb doubled, went to third on a wild pitch and scored on an error with two outs in the seventh for the host Hawks (7-5, 2-3).

Katella 13, Esperanza 7--Kyle Evans had a grand slam in the fourth inning and a two-run home run in the fifth for visiting Katella. Esperanza is 5-6, 2-3.

Loara 7, Los Alamitos 5--A three-run double by Bill Milligan in the second inning sparked host Loara (5-7, 2-3). Jason Ortiz (3-0) had five strikeouts and gave up seven hits and three walks in the complete-game victory.

In the Garden Grove League:

Garden Grove 11, Los Amigos 7--Manuel Vargas had three hits including a home run, scored three runs and drove in four for visiting Garden Grove (4-2, 3-1).

Kennedy 4, Bolsa Grande 2--Daric Grove went two for three with an RBI and a run scored for host Kennedy (8-3, 3-1).

La Quinta 6, Rancho Alamitos 0--Jim Livernois (3-1) pitched a five-hitter, striking out seven and Amador Martinez hit a fifth-inning solo homer for the host Aztecs (7-4, 2-2).

Santiago 6, Pacifica 5--Jamie Estrada opened the sixth with a home run to break a 5-5 tie for host Santiago (7-4, 3-1). Jeff Depipo and Dave Anderson had three hits for Pacifica (8-4, 3-1).

Anaheim 4, Brea-Olinda 3 (8 innings)--Jaime Carlos walked, advanced on a balk and scored on a two-out error by second baseman Marc Feine in the eighth for host Anaheim (7-4, 3-1).

Corey Dean-Yeager hit a homer in the bottom of the seventh to send the game into extra innings.

Estancia 2, Costa Mesa 1--Steve King’s single drove in Jose Hernandez in the first and Mike Smith scored on a second-inning throwing error for the host Eagles (5-4, 3-1).

Laguna Hills 6, Laguna Beach 0--Brett Nista pitched a three-hitter and Jason Pierson hit his third home run of the week for visiting Laguna Hills (6-4, 2-1).

In the Sunset League:

Huntington Beach 13, Santa Ana 1--Jon Ward (4-0) gave up one hit over five innings and hit a two-run homer in the fourth for visiting Huntington Beach (11-1, 3-1).

Edison 9, Westminster 0--Shawn Allbee pitched a four-hitter with nine strikeouts and Todd Belitz hit a home run for Edison (6-2, 4-0).
