Evans Pitches La Habra Into Title Game

COVINA — Danny Evans pitched a one-hitter to help La Habra (8-5) defeat Gladstone, 3-0, in the semifinals of the Gladstone baseball tournament.
Evans (3-3) walked two and did not strike out a batter, but allowed only four balls out of the infield. He also induced 14 groundouts. The only hit Evans gave up was a one-out single in the first inning.
Bryan Reed drove in a run with a single in the first inning for La Habra. Ken Huff and K.C. Chung each had RBI singles in the fourth.
La Habra will play Hesperia today in the championship game.
