Pair of Complete Games Highlight Master’s Sweep

Chris Beck and Mike Smith each pitched complete games Tuesday to lead The Master’s College to a sweep of an NAIA District 3 doubleheader against visiting Point Loma Nazarene, 3-1 and 9-4.

In the opener, Beck (4-3) allowed only two hits and struck out four. He did not allow an earned run. Dan O’Sullivan and Darin Brebes each had two hits for The Master’s.

Smith (7-6) struck out seven and walked two in the second game. O’Sullivan hit his 10th home run and Joe Pence and E. J. Pape each went two for three with a double for The Master’s (16-25).

Point Loma Nazarene fell to 19-24.
