SCC’s Black Takes Care of Christ College Irvine

Justin Pysar hit a two-run home run in the first inning and David Black gave up 10 hits in pitching his seventh complete game of the season as Southern California College defeated Christ College Irvine, 3-2, in an NAIA District 3 first-round playoff baseball game Thursday at Azusa Pacific.

Rodney Nelson had three hits and scored twice for CCI (28-15), which plays Biola at 9:30 a.m. today in an elimination-round game.

SCC (24-21-1) will face Azusa Pacific in a winners’ bracket game at 12:30 p.m. today.
