Race driver Terry Herman of Las Vegas was killed in a crash at the Nevada Open Road Challenge, prompting the race to be canceled.
Race organizer Roger Ward said Herman’s Porsche left the roadway about 25 miles into the race, struck an embankment, rolled end-to-end and burst into flames.
