SOUTHERN SECTION BASEBALL PLAYOFFS : Savanna Upsets Second-Seeded Gahr

CERRITOS — Savanna pitcher Steve Lindop pitched a two-hitter as Savanna upset second-seeded Cerritos Gahr, 2-1, in the first round of the Southern Section 4-A baseball playoffs Friday at Gahr High School.

Alfredo Delgadillo broke a 1-1 tie with a sixth-inning home run.

Savanna (13-13), the third-place team from the Orange League, advances to face San Luis Obispo (14-8), a 12-8 winner over Goleta Dos Pueblos, in the second round Tuesday at a site to be determined.

Savanna led, 1-0, after Dan Brede’s third-inning single drove in John Cho.
