Hankins’ two-out single in the first inning gave Simi Valley (21-6) a 2-0 lead, and his two-out single in the sixth gave the Pioneers a 6-3 advantage.

Treadway gave up three earned runs, struck out two and walked two before being relieved by Trevor Leppard in the seventh.

Simi Valley scored two runs in the fifth to break a 3-3 tie. Britten Pond (two for three) doubled in pinch-runner Brian Lane with one out, and Hankins scored on Bryan Kraft’s groundout to shortstop.

Simi Valley will play Millkan in a quarterfinal game Friday. Eisenhower finished 17-9.

In other Southern Section games:

Long Beach Jordan 1, Channel Islands 0 (10 innings)--Angel Aragon pitched a nine-hitter and struck out seven, but it wasn’t enough as Jordan (17-6) won a second-round 5-A game at Channel Islands.

It was Coach Don Cardinal’s final game after 26 years with the Raiders.

Jerome Henderson led off Jordan’s 10th inning with a double. He moved to third on a sacrifice and scored on a groundout. With Channel Islands’ infield playing in, shortstop Jorge Macias made a diving stop but didn’t have enough time to throw home.

Aragon (10-3) pitched with a blister he developed during the Raiders’ 8-7 first-round victory over Santa Monica last Friday.

He walked one and hit two batters.

Channel Islands threatened in the seventh, but Adrian Castallon was thrown out at home after a two-out single by Ysidro Alfaro.

Macias barely missed a home run on his two-out double in the fourth.

El Dorado 6, Royal 3--Shawn Holcomb sparked host El Dorado with his hitting and pitching in a second-round 5-A game at El Dorado.

Holcomb hit a two-run home run in the third inning to give El Dorado a 4-3 lead. John Street had doubled with one out to bring Holcomb to the plate.

Holcomb pitched the final three innings in relief to earn the save. He gave up three hits and struck out five, including the side in the seventh for El Dorado (22-5), the Empire League champion.

Holcomb pitched a complete game as El Dorado beat Redlands, 4-1, Friday in the first round.

“When you’re in the playoffs,” El Dorado Coach Steve Gullotti said, “you have to set aside your pitching rotation because you hate to worry about your next game when you could lose the one you’re playing.

“Shawn is the best pitcher on our team and he did what he was expected to do, throw strikes and get his curveball over the plate.”

El Dorado added two runs in the sixth to take a 6-3 lead. With one out, Aaron Tom doubled and was replaced by pinch-runner Spencer Frost. Chris Remala doubled to drive in Frost. Remala went to third on a groundout and scored on a wild pitch.
