In the other 2-A semifinal:

Christian 5, USDHS 1--Paige Dulaway was two for two and doubled home Ruth Dawson and Tina Fox for two runs in the first. The Patriots and pitcher Sarah Dawson improved to 22-5 with her one-hitter. The Dons finished 20-5.

3-A semifinals

Granite Hills 6, Monte Vista 1--The Monarchs (20-9-1) racked up nine hits but had little luck against Granite Hills’ Rebekah Kilpatrick. The Eagles blew it open with a four-run second inning. Christie Schilling and Shana Hover had RBI-singles and Erin Stout a sacrifice fly. Granite Hills improved to 26-9-1.

Patrick Henry 2, Mt. Miguel 1--Tara Harre blasted a 230-foot triple over the left fielder’s head with two outs in the bottom of the seventh, scoring Jennifer Berry from second with the winning run. Amy Miner (19-5-1) struck out nine for the top-seeded Patriots (20-5-1). Natasha Sprague (20-10) took the loss for the Matadors (21-12), who scored in the first but also stranded two runners.

1-A semifinals

Holtville 8, Santa Fe Christian 2--Alison Peckham struck out seven, walked none and had a perfect game until the seventh inning. Peckham and top-seeded Holtville, which got three hits from Sandra Villa and two from Digna Campo, improved to 28-1.

Bishop’s 3, Calvin Christian 1--Bishop’s, the five-time defending section champs, are going to the final again, thanks to pitcher Anna Bjeldanes’ two-hitter (11 strikeouts) and her two-run double in the top of the seventh, which broke a 1-1 tie.
