Walker Joins Loyola Staff

Chris Walker, the starting point guard for Villanova last season, has joined former Wildcat assistant John Olive on the Loyola Marymount basketball coaching staff.

Walker will serve in the capacity of the NCAA’s newly designated position of “restricted earnings” assistant coach. The addition of Walker completes Olive’s first coaching staff, which includes assistants Dave Fehte and Bruce Woods.

A native of Houston, Walker was a four-year letterman for Villanova and started all 29 games for the Wildcats last season, averaging 8.7 points and 3.3 assists. He was among the nation’s leading free-throw shooters, making 65 of 75 attempts (87%).

Olive, the top assistant for Villanova the past seven seasons, was named Loyola’s coach in April.
