Eisenhower Gets No. 1 Ranking

Rialto Eisenhower High spent most of last season rated No. 1 in the Southland before losing to Santa Ana Mater Dei in the Southern Section Division I football championship.

The Eagles are expected to go all the way this year with the return of eight starters. Eisenhower is ranked No. 1 in The Times’ preseason poll of the top 20 teams in the City and Southern sections.

This is the first season The Times has combined its City and Southern Section rankings into a single top-20 format. It was adopted because champions from the City Division 4-A and Southern Section Division I will meet Dec. 18 to decide the best team in the Southland.
