COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Dons Win Three Water Polo Games
Rancho Santiago won three consecutive games Saturday at the Mt. San Antonio round-robin water polo tournament.
The Dons posted a 7-6 victory over Los Angeles Pierce, a 21-2 victory over Rio Hondo and an 18-8 victory over Mt. SAC. Jeremy Yorba scored 11 goals in the three games, and Peter Herman scored seven goals in victory over Mt. SAC.
In the San Diego Mesa water polo tournament:
Saddleback wins one--Freshman Trevor Rodin scored two goals to help Saddleback (1-2) defeat Palomar, 7-6, in the Gauchos’ only victory of the day. Saddleback lost to San Diego Mesa, 10-6, and also lost to Grossmont, 20-11. Rodin and Kevin Perkins each scored eight goals in the tournament.
In nonconference men’s soccer:
El Camino 3, Fullerton 1--Carlos Castello scored the only goal for host Fullerton.
In the Bakersfield women’s soccer tournament:
Orange Coast splits--Linda Lewin scored the winning goal as Orange Coast (2-1-1) defeated the Warriors of Bakersfield, a club team, 1-0, in the first game. Orange Coast lost their second game to Cosumnes River College, 1-0.
