O’Brien Does It All in Santa Margarita Victory

SHERMAN OAKS — Sean O’Brien passed for one touchdown and a two-point conversion, ran for one score and kicked a field goal to pace Santa Margarita to a 29-0 victory over Sherman Oaks Notre Dame Friday night.
O’Brien, a senior quarterback, completed 11 of 19 passes for 191 yards and rushed for 80 yards in 15 carries. His field goal was 23 yards long.
Eagle tight end/linebacker Mike Gillissie returned an interception 50 yards for a touchdown and was on the receiving end of O’Brien’s conversion pass.
Notre Dame’s offense was limited to 112 total yards while its defense allowed 378 yards to the fifth-ranked team in Division IV.
Santa Margarita wide receiver Brian Finneran caught seven passes for 128 yards, including a nine-yard scoring pass.
Notre Dame quarterback Kelly Moran completed six of 14 passes for 58 yards with two interceptions.
Santa Margarita improved to 2-0; Notre Dame is 1-1.
