STANTON : Man’s Body Is Found Near Railroad Tracks
A man tentatively identified as a transient was found dead, apparently from a blow to the head, authorities said Wednesday.
Francisco Ramirez, 40, lived in bushes near railroad tracks where the body was found, Sheriff’s Lt. Dick Olson said.
An autopsy Wednesday later confirmed that he died of blunt force trauma to the head, Olson said.
A passerby hailed sheriff’s deputies shortly after 7 a.m. Wednesday, saying he saw what appeared to be a body sprawled near railroad tracks about 200 feet south of Katella Avenue.
The body was clothed in blue jeans and tennis shoes. His shirt and hat were about 20 feet from his body, Olson said.
Olson said it appeared that the man died a few hours before he was discovered and had been dragged to the spot.
