COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Golden West Beats Cypress in Soccer, 5-0

Chris Hames scored three goals to help Golden West defeat Cypress, 5-0, in an Orange Empire Conference men’s soccer match Tuesday at Cypress College.

Golden West (5-4, 1-0 in conference) broke the match open with four goals in the second half. Cypress is 3-3, 0-1.

Irvine Valley 2, Rancho Santiago 2--Keith Rosenberg scored the tying goal with three minutes remaining for host Irvine Valley (5-1-3, 0-0-1). Randall Cordeda scored for visiting Rancho Santiago (5-1-1, 0-0-1).

Riverside 3, Fullerton 2--Carlos Castello scored twice for host Fullerton (4-3-3, 0-1).

In Orange Empire Conference women’s soccer:

Cypress 4, Golden West 0--Brandi Yates scored twice for visiting Cypress (5-1, 2-0). Golden West is 0-2 in conference.

Orange Coast 1, Palomar 1--Amy Cook scored in the first half for Orange Coast (2-3-2, 0-1-1).
