Crescenta Valley 30, Burroughs 0--The Falcons (5-0) took advantage of two interceptions and a five-yard punt by Burroughs to score 17 second-quarter points en route to the easy win at Glendale High. It is Crescenta Valley’s best start since 1976.
Burroughs’ defense couldn’t stop quarterback David Fielder. He completed a 69-yard touchdown pass to Brett Miller and rushed four yards for another touchdown. He also made a 22-yard field goal and converted three of four point-after attempts.
Chad Stewart opened the scoring with a 40-yard interception return.
Burroughs quarterback Richard Flores was knocked out of the game midway through the third quarter and was taken off the field in an ambulance. Burroughs fell to 0-5.
