PREP ROUNDUP : Sunny Hills Wins in Water Polo on Schiele’s Goals in Overtime

Shawn Schiele scored twice in overtime to lead Sunny Hills to a 9-7 victory over host La Habra in a Freeway League water polo match Wednesday.
Schiele finished with three goals, and Lancer goalie Mark Magna had 19 saves for Sunny Hills (7-7, 2-0). La Habra is 1-1 in league.
In Century League water polo:
Foothill 14, El Modena 6--David Hay scored four goals for host Foothill (10-6, 2-0), ranked seventh in Orange County.
Villa Park 13, Canyon 5--Lenny Malo scored eight goals for host Villa Park (11-9, 1-1).
In the Empire League:
Los Alamitos 10, El Dorado 8 (OT)--Tim Sylvester had four goals for host Los Alamitos (9-7, 2-0). El Dorado is 6-10.
In the Pacific Coast League:
Costa Mesa 18, Laguna Hills 2--Sam Grayeli scored seven goals for host Costa Mesa (13-7, 2-0).
In the Sea View League:
Corona del Mar 14, Tustin 7--Brad Harrington scored six goals for host Corona del Mar (9-4, 4-0), ranked fourth in the county.
In the Sunset League:
Fountain Valley 12, Edison 9 (OT)--Robert Causee scored six goals for Fountain Valley (11-3, 4-0), ranked ninth in the county.
In South Coast League boys’ cross-country:
Dana Hills 21, Mater Dei 36--Dana Hills’ Clint Allen ran 15:37 over three miles to win the race for the Dolphins (5-0). Mater Dei is 4-1. Dana Hills also defeated Mission Viejo, 15-49.
In South Coast League girls’ cross-country:
El Toro 25, Capistrano Valley 30--Meagan Hayes ran a time of 19:11 over three miles to win the race for Capistrano Valley (3-2), which defeated San Clemente, 19-40. El Toro (4-1) also defeated San Clemente, 17-42.
