Coach’s Son an Innocent

The recent headlines involving Ventura High School coach Harvey Kochel have been shocking and sensational. But please leave his son out of your coverage of this issue. He has nothing to do with what his father has been accused of. He is a minor and should be protected by the same standards that protect the minor girls involved.

Ventura High School’s students, parents, staff and administration have been particularly understanding, sensitive and supportive of his son. VHS is considered the “nothing much” school in this town, but they don’t call us the Cougars for nothing. We will fight like “cats” to protect our own.
