Taft 27, El Camino Real 20--Jerry Brown rushed for 152 yards and two touchdowns in only seven carries as the Toreadors held off visiting El Camino Real.

Brown scored on touchdown runs of 77 and 61 yards. Teammate Mike Ferguson added first-half touchdown runs of two and five yards for the Toreadors (5-3, 3-2).

Trailing, 20-0, at halftime, El Camino Real (2-6, 2-3) rallied with three touchdowns and a two-point conversion. But with 1:12 remaining, the Conquistadores turned the ball over on downs after quarterback Ryan Venturine (10 of 22 for 141 yards passing) threw an incomplete pass on fourth and 19 at the Taft 30.

Chris Shinnick, who rushed for 139 yards in 17 carries, led the El Camino Real comeback with third-quarter touchdown runs of 27 and four yards.
